Grants
Interventions to improve infant and young child feeding (IYCF) have often failed to reach their maximum impact. The Alive & Thrive (A&T) Grants Program was created to test innovative ideas for scaling up effective and sustainable IYCF interventions in developing countries. The overall goal is to identify new solutions that can be more widely adopted, by linking research to program delivery.
The first call for Letters of Interest was issued in July 2009 and received more than 400 responses. The seven member Technical Advisory Group reviewed the responses and invited 20 applicants to submit full proposals. In February 2010 A&T awarded eight two-year grants.
A second call was issued in July 2010 and four awardees were selected in 2011. Read grantee announcement and grantee profiles.
The Grants Program is managed by the University of California-Davis, a member of the Alive & Thrive consortium.
