The Bill & Melinda Gates foundation is funding the Alive & Thrive nutrition project in the Khanh Hoa Province with approximately $350,000.

The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province has approved this donation. The amount will be managed by AED with technical support from Save the Children Vietnam. The project, running from 2010 to 2013, aims to improve child nutrition in Khanh Hoa.

The project’s goals are to double the percentage of children that are exclusively breastfed during the first 6 months, to reduce the prevalence of stunting among children under 2 years old by at least 2 percent a year; and to improve complementary feeding practices, focusing on both quantity and quality.
