Vu Hai Chau is the Behavior Change Communication Technical Assistant in Viet Nam. Chau completed his bachelor’s in English literature from Thang Long University. Before joining A&T, Chau worked for IPRO and JSC for PR event services. As an event manager, he obtained 3 years of experience in the field of communication. His areas of expertise are developing public relations campaigns, creative events and communication products.

Do Thi Chung graduated from Medical University in 1994 and worked for 1 year as a pediatric doctor at a district hospital and for 4 years as a secretary for the National Anti-malnutrition Program for under-5 children in Hue City; Chung graduated with a master’s of public health in 2006 and then joined Save the Children (A&T project) after 9 years working for Plan International as a Project Coordinator in Central Area.

Do Phuong Dung is the Finance and Administration Manager in Viet Nam. She is responsible for finance and administration for AED-ARTS. Prior to joining A&T, she worked for SMARTWork Viet Nam, AED's project focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention in the workplace, funded by DOL and USAID.

Nguyen Huong Giang is the Behavior Change Communication Specialist in Viet Nam. Giang is a medical doctor and holds an MPH from Auckland University, New Zealand. She has more than 13 years of experience in the field of health education, peer education and communication. Before joining A&T, Giang worked for Save the Children UK and Pact Viet Nam. Her areas of expertise are designing and developing programs focused on children and peer outreach and education, communication, research and training.

Nguyen My Ha is the Private Sector Specialist for A&T Vietnam. She worked for more than 4 years at Unilever, focusing on brand management. She gained broad experience in business managemen and marketing planning and implementation. She also spent 1.5 years at Prosperity Initiative as a strategy analyst, working on in-depth market analysis for different products/sectors to identify economic development and poverty reduction opportunities. My Ha hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Monash University, Australia.

Vu Thi Thu Ha is the Advocacy and PR Specialist in Viet Nam. She worked for 6 years at New York Life and for 2 years at Liberty Insurance (under Liberty Mutual Group) as a PR/Marketing Specialist. She also worked at Marie Stopes International as a PR/Communications Coordinator, focusing on global and domestic social franchise models, social marketing, branding and media campaigns. She has broad experience, ranging from community development and capacity building to diplomatic and political issues, which she worked on in the business sector. In addition to three bachelor’s degrees from Ha Noi University for Foreign Languages (English and Russian) and Ha Noi National University Law Department, she also completed the Lawyer Practical Course at Judiciary Institute in August 2004.

Nemat Hajeebhoy is the Senior Country Director in Viet Nam. She has over 14 years of experience in international health and management, having worked in Asia, East Africa and North America. Her work has focused on maternal and child health, water supply, sanitation & hygiene promotion and post-disaster rehabilitation. Nemat has worked extensively on behavior change communication strategies and public private partnerships. Her interest lies in program research and cost analysis. Nemat holds a master’s of public health in health systems management. Prior to her assignment with Alive & Thrive (A&T), Nemat worked as Country Manager for the Aga Khan Foundation in Tanzania.

Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa is the Provincial Project Manager for Save the Children. She is responsible for daily project management in Khanh Hoa, Vinh Long and Ho Chi Minh City, in the south of Viet Nam. With more than 6 years experience in women’s and gender studies and some other projects related to women’s health and child rights, Hoa has diverse experience with national and international institutions, government and NGOs.

Nguyen Van Huan is the A&T Project Manager in charge of Thai Nguyen and Thanh Hoa provinces. Since May 2008, he has been working for Save the Children on behavior change communication for an HIV/AIDS prevention project funded by PEPFAR/USAID through Pact Vietnam. Prior to joining Save the Children, Huan worked for 3 years for a local nonprofit organization focused on community development. Huan has a bachelor's degree in English as well as a bachelor's degree in economics.

Tran The Hung is Project Manager for A&T in southern Viet Nam. He has almost 10 years of experience in different international NGOs, such as Family Health International, Nordic Assistance to Viet Nam and World Vision International in Viet Nam. He has worked on HIV/AIDS prevention and People Living with HIV/AIDS projects for inmates in prisons, and he has also worked on mobilizing faith-based organizations for HIV/AIDS projects. He specializes in partner capacity building and working with related local agencies to provide a supportive environment for project implementation and monitoring.

Nguyen Tuan Hung is the Regional Manager for the southern provinces of Viet Nam. Tuan Hung holds a MPH from Heidelberg University in Germany. Before joining Save the Children for A&T, Hung worked for more than 10 years on community health projects for several international NGOs (such as CARE International and World Vision International in Viet Nam) in both technical and managerial positions. He brings extensive field experience and academic background in child health initiatives, Integrated Management of Childhood Illness, and health sector reform and disease control.

Tran Thi Kiem is the North Regional Manager in Viet Nam. She has worked more than 10 years in the Health and Nutrition Sector of Save the Children in Viet Nam as manager of the projects: Save Motherhood, Maternal Health Care and Nutrition, Adolescent Reproductive Health, Saving Newborn Lives and Child Survival. Before working for Save the Children, she worked for 10 years at National Ob-Gyn Hospital as a midwife and 5 years as General Secretary of Viet Nam Midwife Association.

Tran Mai Lan is the Research Assistant for A&T Viet Nam. Lan graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Hanoi School of Public Health (HSPH) in 2008. Before joining A&T, Lan worked as a Project Assistant for World Vision International Viet Nam. For A&T, she works on data analysis and the production of various reports.Trinh 

Nguyen Thi Mien is the Project Assistant in Viet Nam. She assists with translation and interpretation as well as administrative and financial tasks. Mien graduated with a bachelor’s degree in foreign languages from Hanoi University of Technology in March 2010. Prior to joining the A&T team, she worked as a Receptionist/Customer Service Representative for Hanoi International SOS clinic and as a short-term junior Project Assistant for A&T Vietnam. She also has volunteered for various NGOs.

Tran Thi Ngan is the Monitoring Assistant in Viet Nam. Ngan graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Hanoi School of Public Health (HSPH) in 2009. Prior to joining A&T, Ngan worked as a Training Assistant for the epidemiology department at the Hanoi School of Public Health. For A&T, she works on the development of information management systems, data analysis and the production of various reports.

Trong Nghia is the A&T Program Manager for the north region of Viet Nam. He has seven years of work experience at Save the Children. Nghia has proven ability to work under pressure and complete a wide variety of tasks, both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Before joining A&T, he was the Program Officer in the Emergency Response and Preparedness Program for Save the Children.

Nguyen Hong Phuong is the Country Coordinator for the Monitoring and Evaluation component in Viet Nam. She is a medical doctor and has served as an Ob/Gyn for over 12 years at the Thai Nguyen Medical School in Viet Nam. She obtained her MPH and PhD in nutrition and health sciences from Emory University. Before joining IFPRI, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Hubert Department of Global Health at Emory University. Dr. Nguyen’s research interests are in the area of maternal and child health and nutrition with a special emphasis on issues in developing countries.

Phan Van Quy is the Provincial Project Manager in the central region of Viet Nam. Quy received a bachelor’s in agriculture and forestry from Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry. Quy has more than 10 years experience working on rural development projects, such as community development to support women’s health and child nutrition, supporting private business, etc. Quy joined A&T in September 2009 and has a wide range of experience working for national and international institutions, government and NGOs.

Nguyen van Son is the Project Manager in three provinces in the central region: Quang Tri, Da Nang and Quang Ngai. Before joining A&T, Son worked for the GRET-Group of Research and Technology Exchanges, a French NGO specializing in agricultural research and rural development. In this organization, he worked for the Fasevie program, specializing in fighting against malnutrition in 3 provinces and cities in the Center: Quang Nam, Da Nang, Ha Tinh. Since then, he has worked in close collaboration with the National Institution for Nutrition (NIN). While working for the Fasevie program, he held various positions, such as coordinator of the site of Quang Nam and manager of training of nutritional education. He is experienced in supporting province, district and commune partners in implementing nutrition projects.

Nguyen Thanh Tuan is the Technical Specialist in Measurement, Learning and Evaluation for A&T Vietnam. In addition, he is a Senior Program Officer for the Epidemiologic Research, Surveillance, and Evaluation Unit at FHI 360 Vietnam. Dr. Tuan got his medical degree in pediatrics from Hanoi Medical University, a master’s in community nutrition from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia, and a doctorate in nutrition epidemiology from the University of North Carolina, USA. He did his post-docs at Baylor College of Medicine and John Hopkins University with a focus on pediatric nutrition, obesity, non-chronic diseases, health disparity and systematic review. Before studying in the United States, Dr. Tuan was a lecturer for the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety at Hanoi Medical School and a consultant for various international organizations for different nutritional and health projects.

Le Thi Uyen is the Project Assistant for A&T Viet Nam. Uyen graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages - Hanoi University of Technology in March 2009. Before joining A&T, she worked as a Teaching Assistant at the British Council based in Viet Nam and as an Intern at the Child Protection Department of Save the Children in Viet Nam. She was trained and carried out surveys related to the project, Build-Up Community Base Child Protection System, in the Quang Ninh and Vinh Phuc provinces.

Tran Thu Ha is the Program Coordinator for A&T Viet Nam's community component. Dr. Ha graduated from the Hanoi School of Medicine and earned her MPH from the Hanoi School of Public Health. She has 13 years of experience managing health projects, most recently for Save the Children’s prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV project in five provinces.
