Human Milk Bank (HMB) services are an essential component of a breastfeeding-friendly health system, ensuring pre-term, low-birth-weight, and other vulnerable infants have the protections of breastmilk when they need it most. With the support of the Government of Ireland through Alive & Thrive, Viet Nam has operationalized three HMBs and two HMB satellites since 2017 with HMB services poised to expand further in the future.
