This review summarizes the impact of stunting, highlighting the growing evidence of the connections between slow height growth in young children and impaired health, education, and economic performance later in life. The author underscores that the process of stunting reflects damage that affects health and development in the long-term and advocates to make prevention of stunting a priority among program leaders and policymakers.
