This series of three posters, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Viet Nam, provides information on kangaroo mother care, proper breastfeeding latch, and breastmilk expression and storage. The posters are part of the Centers of Excellence for Breastfeeding initiative.

Breastfeeding in Lao PDR is widely socially accepted and strongly supported by government policy. While most infants are breastfed, the practice is often sub-optimal: slow initiation, pre-lacteal feeding, and mixed feeding are common.

Building on the proven approach demonstrated in Viet Nam, A&T has established a strong network of committed champions and partners to replicate improvements in maternal, infant and young child nutrition (MIYCN) policies and programs throughout Southeast Asia.

In collaboration with partners, Alive & Thrive (A&T) is working to strengthen the capacity of health systems in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Viet Nam to deliver high-quality breastfeeding-friendly services to mothers and infants.
