This quick guide summarizes the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes (The Code) and relevant resolutions of the World Health Assembly that help protect breastfeeding around the globe.

This document outlines the technical guidelines for establishing and operating Human Milk Banks in Viet Nam, providing a basis for health facilities providing maternity and newborn services. 

Breastfeeding is a powerful weapon in the fight to ensure every child has the best possible start to life, but mothers need access to accurate information and timely support from their family and community; the healthcare system; and their employers.

Building on experiences and lessons learned from its first five years in Ethiopia, Alive & Thrive Phase II (2014-2017) provided support to roll out elements of the government’s multi-sectoral National Nutrition Program (NNP) aimed at improving breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices

Alive & Thrive used the tools presented in this document to implement its maternal nutrition program from 2015-2016.
