Alive & Thrive explores academic literature on fathers’ involvement in child feeding.

In large parts of Amhara region of Ethiopia, food availability and production are among the highest in the country. Yet, so are rates of chronic malnutrition (DHS, 2011). Alive & Thrive, in collaboration with the Government of Ethiopia, set out to address these discrepancies.

Summarizes Alive & Thrive’s experience in engaging the private sector to increase supply, demand, and use of fortified complementary foods and products.

Presents the methodology and results of using linear programming to determine whether micronutrient needs could be met using only unfortified local foods in three countries, explores options for meeting these needs that includes fortified products, and compares the costs of the various scenarios.

On Friday, September 21, 2012, I gave birth in a nearby health center to my second daughter.  Her father and I named her Bethlehem. We were happy. God had blessed our family with a healthy and strong baby. I thank God and all that have helped me.
