This document outlines the technical guidelines for establishing and operating Human Milk Banks in Viet Nam, providing a basis for health facilities providing maternity and newborn services. 

With financial and technical support from Alive & Thrive and PATH, the Da Nang Department of Health launched Viet Nam’s first human milk bank at the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children.

Helps counselors in Viet Nam conduct individual counseling and facilitate group discussions on feeding practices.

Trainer Manual 3 is designed for use by trainers to enhance the capacity of community-based workers (CBWs) in IYCF.

Trainer Manual 2 is designed for use by trainers to prepare health-facility workers to deliver quality IYCF counseling services.

Trainer Manual 1 is designed for use by trainers to enhance capacity of IYCF franchise management for franchise managers and staff who are working at health facilities that offer IYCF franchise services. The accompanying handbook is a reference for trainees on topics discussed in the training.
