This flip chart is intended for use as a job aid by health workers to advise pregnant and breastfeeding mothers on best practices in maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, and complementary feeding. 

This guide provides talking points for community mobilization volunteers in Nigeria to utilize when advising mothers and their family members on best practices in maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, and complementary feeding for young children.

From 2016-2021, A&T aimed to strengthen the quality of one-on-one and group counselling on nutrition for pregnant women and mothers of children under 2 years of age in Nigeria.

In 2022, Alive & Thrive expanded its activities in Nigeria. These nutrition profiles provide stakeholders a snapshot of the situation in each of the states where Alive & Thrive is now working with government and other partners to improve MIYCAN outcomes.

There is wide recognition of the importance of integrating maternal nutrition interventions in antenatal care (ANC) to improve maternal and child health.
