Sandra Remancus
Director
Sandy has 30 years of experience in nutrition, food security, public health and program management. Before becoming Project Director, she served as A&T's Regional Director for Africa. Prior to joining A&T, she was the Project Director for the FANTA Project. She also worked in Cote d’Ivoire as part of the PSI social marketing team on a USAID-funded Family Health and AIDS project and then with the US State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (B/PRM) as the Acting Regional Coordinator. She also worked for the US Department of Agriculture on child feeding and nutrition education programs. Sandy has a MS degree from the Tufts’s University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. She was a Peace Corps fisheries volunteer in the DRC.
Sujata Bose
Director, Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation
Washington, DC
Sujata has over twenty years of international public health and development experience, with a focus on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and strategic information (SI). Her experience spans a broad range of health-related topical areas, including MCH, nutrition and food security, HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, and health systems’ strengthening. She has helped build field-based/project level M&E systems, provided global M&E technical support, and contributed to global M&E forums and working groups. Before joining Alive & Thrive as the Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation Director, Sujata worked as the lead Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor on the Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance (FANTA) Project at FHI 360
Joy Del Rosso, MS
Director, Knowledge Leadership and Learning
Joy has over 30 years of experience working on nutrition programs, starting her career in Latin America with Catholic Relief Services as the project manager for an integrated nutrition project, after serving in the Peace Corps in Africa. Prior to joining A&T, Joy was the Senior Director of Nutrition at Save the Children responsible for its global nutrition portfolio. She has also worked for the Manoff Group and the World Bank.
Marina Nersesyan
Director, Operations
Marina oversees A&T’s global operations. She brings to the team over 20 years of experience in the design and management of international development projects. Prior to joining A&T in 2008 she worked on the USAID-funded LINKAGES and A2Z projects at AED. Her prior experience includes grants management, cost effectiveness analysis, and small and medium enterprise lending at Save the Children and ShoreBank.
Bruce Rasmussen
Africa Director

Bruce is a public health professional who has managed health, emergency response and other programs in Asia and Africa for over three decades, often at the humanitarian-development nexus. He spent many years in Pakistan, later moving to Vietnam, Jordan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Most recently he served as a consultant with USAID in Nigeria and Uganda providing management support to a wide range of health programming.

Tina Sanghvi, PhD
Director, Country Programs
Tina has more than 35 years of experience in international health and nutrition as technical advisor and director of country operations in international public health programs in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. She previously served for five years as A&T’s Senior Country Director in Bangladesh. Prior to joining A&T, Tina worked for 7 years at the global BASICS – Child Survival project and was the country director for A2Z, the USAID Micronutrient and Child Blindness Project. She is also the author of several books and published articles, including Nutrition Essentials – A Guide for Health Managers, on how to mainstream nutrition in health services.
Helen Albert
Finance Associate Director
Helen brings over 14 years of experience in international development with a focus on financial and project management in various sectors, including girls’ education, civic engagement and youth development, to her role as Finance Associate Director. She has led overall project, budget and financial management of large-scale U.S. Government and private sector funded projects in the Middle East and Africa, where she developed expertise in programmatic, financial, and contractual oversight of projects. Prior to joining A&T, Helen was responsible for the financial management of the USAID-funded YouthPower Action IDIQ in FHI 360’s Global Education, Employment and Engagement (G3E) Group.
Andres Chavarriaga
Finance Officer
Andres has more than 16 years of experience in finance, including nine years working at FHI 360. Andres is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining financial budget reports for all countries. Prior to joining A&T, he managed finances for the Head Start project Region XI and XII, and the “las Manos de Apa” project. Andres also has experience working in banking in Colombia and the United States.
Lina Constien
Program Officer
Lina provides financial and administrative support to A&T’s programs in Bangladesh and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining the A&T team, Lina worked at another NGO, providing project support for the Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) project, funded by USAID, as well as other USAID and Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) funded projects located in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Zambia. Lina was born in Baghdad, Iraq, and has served in the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
Elana Dhuse
Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation Advisor

Elana Dhuse, Monitoring Learning and Evaluation Technical Advisor, has over 10 years of experience providing MLE support to health projects throughout Africa and Asia. Elana began her career as a Rotary Research Fellow in Madagascar where she led qualitative data collection to assess the impact of the private sector on providing social services. Elana has led M&E and learning activities across the RMNCH spectrum, including assessing quality improvement, health system strengthening, and provider training. Elana received a BA from Emory University and an MPP from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Jeanel Drake, MA
Technical Writer
Jeanel supports Alive & Thrive's global communications to promote knowledge and learning. Jeanel has more than 10 years of experience strengthening community health initiatives in Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, creative director for a firm in Uganda that develops innovative education and communications materials, and as a staff member at Partners for Health supporting maternal and child health programming.
Jessica Escobar-Alegria, PhD
Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation Advisor
Jessica covers the South Asia and Southeast Asia portfolios for A&T, as well as spearheads A&T's work with its Stakeholder and Technical Advisory Group. Before joining A&T, Jessica supported a variety of global health initiatives, contributed to awarded grants for research and evaluation in public nutrition and health, and collaborated with Feeding America, Alive & Thrive India, and IFPRI India and Guatemala. Jessica worked in El Salvador for the United Nations World Food Programme and the Ministry of Health. Additional experiences with roles on monitoring and evaluation include serving as a technical officer at the Pan American Health Organization, and as a collaborator for the Micronutrient Initiative, the World Health Organization, and the United States Agency for International Development.
Andrew Fine
Program Officer
Andrew is an operations and financial management professional supporting A&T's India and Madagascar programming. Prior to joining A&T, Andrew worked with FHI 360’s Social and Economic Development practice where he provided project coordination and operational support to a multi-country youth development initiative funded by USAID. Additionally, Andrew spent several years in Thailand as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer where he worked in partnership with Thai government officials to identify and address community-identified priorities to create sustainable grassroots youth development projects.
Kevin Iredale
Program Officer
Washington, DC
Kevin is a public health professional providing administrative, programmatic, and financial support to A&T’s ASEAN and Madagascar programs. Prior to joining A&T, Kevin supported other USAID-funded programs in Burkina Faso and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso, working on social and behavior change and malaria projects.
Tika Jaishi-Neupane, MA
Program Officer
Tika is responsible for programmatic, financial, and administrative backstopping of the Ethiopia and other A&T programs. She has 18 years of experience in program administration and finance with the United Nations and various non-profit organization within the US and overseas. Prior to joining A&T, Tika worked with the AED-ARTS Accounting Department, Global Health Council in Washington DC, UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia, Kathmandu, DFID-Nepal Program, Kathmandu, OXFAM-Nepal, and Action Aid Nepal, Kathmandu.
Kelly Josiah, MS
Associate Director, Programs & Contracts
Kelly is responsible for managing contracts and procurement for A&T. She has been with FHI for over ten years. Prior to joining A&T in 2011, she managed the Child Blindness Grants Program for FHI’s USAID Micronutrient and Child Blindness Project and worked in the Contracts Department. Kelly has also served as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Office of International Affairs at the US auditing regulator, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
Kristen Kappos, MPH
Associate Director, Asia
Kristen brings extensive experience with managing MIYCN programs in field-based and headquarters positions. Prior to joining A&T, she was based in Tamale, Ghana where she led the nutrition component of a USAID-funded multi-sectoral project aimed at reducing stunting and anemia. Kristen has provided technical, financial, and administrative backstopping to country programs in Ghana, Haiti and Uganda with the USAID-funded SPRING Project. She has also lived and worked on global health initiatives in India and Nepal.
Rabi Lamichhane, MBA
Associate Director, Finance
Rabi is a financial management professional who has spent more than 20 years in project finance management. His experience is mainly on the US government funded projects in various organization including United Nations Agencies, SNV Netherlands Development Organization and other charitable organization like Water Aid and ActionAid. Prior joining A&T, Rabi was the Finance Manager for another large global nutrition project (FANTA) at FHI 360.
Joe Lamport
Associate Director, Communication
Joe has developed and implemented communication strategies for more than a decade on international development projects around the world. His work has focused on food security, economic growth and development, civil law, civic engagement, human rights, and peace and security.
Mackenzie Mayo
Communications Specialist
Mackenzie is a global health professional supporting Alive & Thrive's Knowledge, Leadership, and Learning team as a Communications Specialist. She brings experience in managing communications in field-based public health and nutrition positions. Prior to joining A&T, she was based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as a Communications and Business Development associate in the country’s largest maternal hospital. Mackenzie has also worked supporting WFP’s maternal nutrition and emergency food aid programs in Yangon, Myanmar.
Lesley Oot, MPH
Associate Director, Programs
Lesley is a global health professional with 10 years of experience providing programmatic support and technical assistance to maternal and child health programs in Africa and Asia, with a specific focus on nutrition. Her technical expertise includes maternal, adolescent, and child nutrition, food security, and nutrition advocacy. Prior to joining A&T, Lesley was a technical officer for another large global nutrition project (FANTA) at FHI 360.
Patricia Preware, M.Sc.
Associate Director, Country Programs
Patricia is a public health professional, specializing in the provision of technical, financial, and administrative management and support for donor-funded health projects in Africa. She has assisted in the administration of projects in Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Angola, Nigeria and Tanzania in the areas of malaria control and prevention, health systems strengthening, reproductive health, and nutrition. Prior to joining A&T, Patricia conducted organizational assessment for USAID-funded fellow placements, tracking program targets and deliverables, training staff, and managing client relationships with funding organizations, host-country Ministries of Health, and other counterparts.
Courtney Shaw, MA
Administrative Associate
Courtney has extensive experience providing administrative and project support, as well office management services, in a variety of nonprofit and corporate settings. Prior to joining A&T, she worked as a Development Associate for a nonprofit focused on after school programming for low-income youth in Southeast DC. Courtney's unique skill set includes a graduate degree in Understanding and Securing Human Rights and her thesis on climate change-related displacement.
