To inform a refresh process of the Government of Indonesia’s National Strategy to Accelerate Stunting Reduction 2018-2022 (StraNas Stunting), and the subsequent localization of SBCC plans at the district-level, Alive & Thrive developed a package of knowledge products based on formative research completed in 2019. The products present and explain an innovative people-driven design process used to fill in gaps in understanding about specific priority MIYCN and early childhood development practices.
The products, funded by the Tanoto Foundation, focus on three main areas: 1) the innovative process used in the research; 2) the major findings and their implications for SBCC planning and actions; 3) and how the results can be taken forward at sub-national and national level.
The aim of the products is to promote the innovative participatory methods used in the research and inform the development of sub-national SBCC strategies. Future efforts will involve providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and sub-national academic institutions to build local capacity to conduct studies and formative research to support social and behavior change actions at district to village level.
