Breastfeeding is the biological norm for feeding infants and is vital for the survival and development of sick and very preterm newborns. When mothers' own breastmilk is not available, the World Health Organization recommends donor human milk (DHM) from a human milk bank (HMB) as the next option to the mother's own breastmilk. This study examined characteristics and factors associated with higher volumes of DHM donation at the first HMB in Vietnam.
